The imitation ivory handle feels sturdier in my hand than I expected for the price, and it whips up a decent lather even with my cheap soap. Bristles are a bit scratchy at first but softened up after a week of use.

For a first brush this is genuinely gentle on the skin—the black bristle isn't scratchy at all once it's soaked. The handle is so light you almost forget you're holding it, and it lathers up a decent foam from my soap in about a minute.
